Hello everyone! Welcome back from the holidays! I hope you had enough ram meat to eat? Last Wednesday over the ‘Eid holiday WhoGoMake held its very first DIY hangout.
It was an afternoon of crafting, networking, eating and drinking. Initially, the weather was a bit gloomy and there were light showers but that didn’t stop us from having a great time. We had our introductions and we talked briefly about the WhoGoMake brand and the DIY hangout series. Our DIY hangout series is a bimonthly series where creatives come together to craft, have real conversations, network and generally have a good time. Afterwards we kicked off with making ankara crafts.we made ankara bangles, earrings, rings and necklaces.
There was also an interactive session with Suashi Ini-Usoro of E-business Hub and she gave us all the hacks for running a business online. She also gave us insight on product pricing, Instagram for business, Google for business and a lot more.
Once that was done, we had a challenge where every one had to make their own unique neck piece. The outcome was impressive, as participants came up with really nice designs. some were simple, others were more dramatic but in all the creativity of the participants was mind blowing.
To round things up, we revamped an old pair of shoes with ankara fabric and the outcome was awesome! we also analyzed the various adhesives that can be used for various DIY projects.
By now, you already know that a gathering without small chops is just a meeting, so we it was only right we had some puff puff, mosas, springrolls and the other members of the small chops family accompanied by Wilson’s Lemonade.
The inaugural edition of WhoGoMake DIY Hangout series was indeed a day of creativity, learning, networking and fun!
Special thanks to our participants, partners and supporters. We hope to see you at our next hangout.
