Your favorite spots for brunch and cute pictures have been shut down and we all stuck at home.
Now is definitely the best time to make yourself at home. You have to create your own Instagram able spots at home. It may be temporary or permanent do whatever works for you. Remember Instagram did not shut down and you need to keep giving us content.
These are the steps you need to take in creating your photo spots at home
1. Lighting: the lighting available for a photo would determine if it would come out great or not. So go around your house and look out for when you get the best light. Check out all the angles, open up your windows to see where the best lighting is coming from. If you don’t have access to bright natural light, get artificial light alternatives like the ring light or light box. P.S the best light for great picture quality is natural light and the best time to take pictures from my experience is from 9 am to 11 am when the intensity of the sun is not so high hence you won’t get those aggressive shadows.
2. Figure out your aesthetics.
Now you have found the perfect spot with the best light, does it match your style? Are you a minimalist or minimalist? Bohemian chic or farm house? You need to figure that out before proceeding to style your spot.
3. Styling your spot. You have found your spot, lighting is perfect, you know your style so what next? You need to style your spot . your spot is probably an empty wall facing your windows so you need to add character and texture to that spot. every picture should tell a story. One of the easiest and cheapest ways to style a spot is by bringing in nature. Bringing in a bit of nature to a place be it greenery , floral or even dried flowers takes the space from zero to hundred in no time. You can make use of natural or artificial plants whichever is easily accessible to you.
Another way to style can also be by making a gallery wall. You can frame up different items from fabrics to paper and canvas and create a gallery wall that would serve as a good background for your pictures.
You can add other items and props depending on your general style remember there is no one style fit all just go ahead and create a cute instagramable spot in your home.
In this picture I simply framed my Ankara fabric with frames from @shopwgm on instagram and embroidery hoops from @crafties for all brought in plants from outside and created a perfect picture spot in less than 10 minutes.
